Zip Wire ……crazy daughter raising money for charity !!!!!!

My crazy wonderful daughter decided to raise money for a charity that is very close to our hearts “Cruse Bereaveament Care” It’s a UK charity that not many people know about, but they are a wonderful  organisation. They are trained individuals who give their time freely at a very difficult time to help others.

On April 26th my daughter took to  flight at the highest Zip Wire in Europe which is constructed over a  slate quarry in North Wales in the middle of the beautiful surroundings of the famous Snowdonia mountains.

It was once the largest slate quarry in the world that extracted slate, but that was 100 yrs ago. Back in the days the original zip wire was used to extract rock from the quarry, now the zip wire is used to enable crazy people to psychologically face one hell of a challenge !

This zip wire is 1600m in length you can reach up to 115 mph. and your 500 ft   above ground. I won’t  beat around the bush, there is no way on earth that I would be able to do it…..I have absolutely no inclination to hang by a bit of wire and fly through the air at 115 mph.

For me as a spectator it was nerve racking enough, my youngest daughter about to fly through the air in the high winds and driving rain and I’ll say it nicely it was b….y freezing., we seemed to wait ages for her to do the “fly past” and then it happened so quickly I nearly missed her, well I suppose 115 mph   is rather fast!

She was like a little red bug …no stopping her. Then it was all over

She was so brave and we’re all so proud of her especially as she has an awful fear of heights, and she has raised nearly £700 for the charity.

At the end of it all she even said she’d do it again it was exhilarating……

Proof of flight.
